28 Sep Disputes and Damage the TDS Way
As part of our continuing work to make sure our staff members are trained to the highest standards we arranged for Zainab to go to London and attend the Disputes and Damages the TDS Way course on 9th May.
The course was hosted at the Propertymark London Office and is an intermediate course designed for property professionals who deal with the settlement of tenants deposits. As one of the leading lettings agents in Slough and the surrounding area we feel it’s important to make sure we are equipped with all the techniques and knowledge to deal with any disputes swiftly and efficiently this will help us to make sure that both parties are happy with the outcome.
The course covers important aspects of deposit legislation and runs through the rules and regulations around receipt, protection and the Prescribed Information Key cases. The course also covered how to deal with deposit deductions and tenancy agreements and how to fairly assess wear and tear.
We deal with a large number of tenants and landlords and are delighted to say that the vast majority of tenancy handovers go smoothly but it’s important to be ready with techniques and mechanisms to call upon to ensure that all parties can come to an amicable resolution – should anything go awry.
The course also dealt with best practices involving inventories and check-outs along with evidence and the role of the agent and fees. This is something that is often misaligned in some agencies but as part of our continuing work to not only deliver good service, but an all-round excellent
experience we think it is important to utilise the resources we have at our disposal.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the TDS Disputes Course, met some great people and had some scintillating discussions, I’m looking forward to more courses to develop even more knowledge in “The Residential Lettings Field”, the Industry is becoming even more legislative and I’m so pleased that G Flegg & Co is ARLA Accredited & trains us all with the best and most up to date information.” Zainab.
